Implant Dentistry at Austin  Smile Center

New teeth in one day?  How immediate dental implants can benefit you.

  • Are you tired of having gaps in your smile?
  • Do you tend to favor chewing on one side of your mouth because you have missing teeth on the other side?
  • Are you sick of wearing a "flipper" denture and want something more permanent?
  • Does one of your front teeth have to be removed, and you're putting it off?

If any of these apply to you, then you should give Austin Smile Center a call.  We can rejuvenate your smile and restore your chewing function. Some dentists place dental implants.  Some dentists restore dental implants. At Austin Smile Center, we do both.

Don't worry about your dentist and your oral surgeon playing the blame game if something doesn't fit.  At Austin Smile Center, everything is controlled in house to minimize your worries.

FREE CONSULTS   for dental implants

Dental implants are titanium screws that are placed in the jaw.  They function like the tooth roots that were once there.  Once the bone integrates with the implant, a crown is placed on the implant.  Sometimes a temporary tooth can be added to the implant on the same day!  You now have a brand new tooth that you can brush and floss just like a regular tooth.

Sounds expensive  Our prices are very competitive so if you're planning on seeing several dentists for consults,  you might want to see us first.   Give Austin Smile Center a call so we can set up an appointment to assess your individual needs.  12 month 0% financing is available through Carecredit.com

Sounds painful    It's not!  Most people say that the extraction of the original tooth actually hurt more!  Most surgeries are done with just local anesthetic.  Extra sedation is available if needed.  After the surgery, there is no bone exposed, so there isn't as much pain as you would think.  There will always be some swelling, but antibiotics and Advil do a great job controlling that!

Any drawbacks?  Sometimes, it may take four to six months (or more) to get a new tooth.  There needs to be adequate tightness to support the new tooth.  However, we are often able to give you a tooth the same day.  We won't know until you see us for a free consult.  So give us a call and set up your appointment.

Immediate dental implant in position, the custom abutment is placed, then a temporary crown in cemented.  This photo shows the final crown in place.

Why not just place a bridge?  A bridge is basically two crowns with a dummy tooth in the middle to fill the space.  All three teeth are connected so that you cannot floss in between them.  There is a way to clean underneath a fixed bridge using a floss threader, but few patients do this and the bridge gets cavities in a few years.   With an implant, you retain the ability to floss normally, so that you can take better care of your investment (your mouth!). Most dentists place bridges to fill these spaces.  Why?  Because that's how they were trained 20 or 30 years ago!  There were no dental implants in 1980, but you don't have to put old technology in your mouth.  Insist on the best!

Can't I just fill the space with a denture?  Yes, if that's what you really want.  Remember, the old adage: you get what you pay for.  Not many people these days are opting for the removable denture.  A denture is smelly, tastes funny, and it may make you feel older than you really are.  Implant placement and restoration is one of the fasting growing facets of dentistry today. Our denture patients are one of our greatest sources for implant patients!

Implants are placed in jaw.  After healing and some fancy impressions, the new bridge is delivered.

The results give the appearance of all your own teeth being there.

This patient arrives at our office with broken teeth, and leaves with two Nobel implants and two temporary crowns.   No temporary dentures.  No waiting for healing. Also shown are the final crowns in place.  Give us a call to see what Austin Smile Center can do for you.

Thanks for making Austin Smile Center your #1 source for quality dentistry!
